SEO & Web Development Case Studies

A headline number says little on its own. Each of our SEO and web development case studies shows where the project started, what we did and how long the change took.

The format

What Every Case Study Covers

Every write-up uses these six parts in this order, which makes one project easy to compare with another.

  1. Client and business type

Who the client is, or their industry and market when they prefer not to be named, plus the services involved.

  2. The challenge

What was holding the business back when we started, with the baseline figures that show the size of the problem.

  3. Strategy

What we chose to tackle first and why, including the work we deliberately left for a later phase.

  4. Work performed

The actual deliverables: technical fixes, pages built or rewritten, profiles cleaned up, content published and outreach completed.

  5. Result

What changed for the business and over what period, including anything that took longer than we had forecast.

  6. Metrics

The few figures that best show the change, each clearly labeled, so you can check them against the story above.

What we measure

What We Track, by Service

We agree on the key figures before work begins, record a baseline before any change goes live and report against it every month. Which figures matter depends on the service.

Organic search

  • Positions for the keywords tied to sales
  • Organic sessions to key pages
  • Leads and inquiries from organic visits
  • Conversion rate of organic landing pages

Local search

  • Visibility in local map results
  • Calls, direction requests and website clicks from your Business Profile
  • Inquiries from location pages
  • Review volume and recency

Reputation

  • What appears on page one for your brand name
  • Average rating across review platforms
  • Share of reviews that receive a reply
  • Branded click-through rate

Website performance

  • Core Web Vitals on mobile and desktop
  • Form completions and conversion rate
  • Bounce rate on key templates
  • Checkout completion for online stores

When you can share sales or CRM data, we also track cost per inquiry and revenue from organic visits, the numbers that show whether the work paid off.

Our reporting rules

How We Report the Numbers

A percentage on its own can be made to look impressive. These rules keep our figures honest, in monthly reports and in every published case study.

  • A stated baseline. Every figure is compared with a starting point and a date range, so “before” always means something specific.
  • Comparable periods. Seasonal businesses are compared year over year, never against a quiet month.
  • Rankings next to results. Positions are reported alongside the calls, inquiries and sales from the same period.
  • Context included. If a redesign, a price change or new ad spend happened at the same time, the report says so.
  • Client approval. Names and figures are published only with written permission; otherwise we describe the business type instead.

The same rules apply on our SEO rankings page, where every keyword example carries the date it was checked, and on our testimonials page, where feedback appears only after the client approves it.

Before you trust any case study

Four checks worth running on any agency’s results, ours included.

What period does it cover?

Growth over three years and growth over three months are very different stories.

Where did it start?

Tripling a handful of visits is easier than growing an established site by a third.

What else changed?

A new website, a sale or a competitor closing can move the numbers as much as the marketing.

Does it connect to revenue?

Impressions and traffic matter only when they lead to calls, inquiries or sales.

FAQ

Questions About Our Case Studies

Do you name the clients in your case studies?

Only with the client’s written approval. Some businesses would rather not reveal their marketing partners, or their numbers, to competitors. In that case the write-up describes the industry and market instead of the company name.

Would my project be published as a case study?

Only if you agree. We would ask first, share the draft with you and leave out anything you are not comfortable making public, including specific figures.

Why do results vary so much from one project to another?

Every project starts from a different place. The competition in your market, the age and health of your website, your budget and how quickly changes go live all shape the outcome. A case study is best read as evidence of method, not as a forecast for your business.

Can you tell me what results to expect?

Not with certainty, and we would be wary of anyone who claims to, because search engines and competitors are outside anyone’s control. What we can do after a free audit is outline a realistic range for your business, explain the assumptions behind it and then report against it openly.

Want a Forecast for Your Business?

Give us your site and your three main competitors. We will model what is realistically achievable in six and twelve months, and tell you plainly if we think the numbers do not justify the spend.
